Winter is looming. Dark, frosty mornings and endless rainy days… not good. So, do you really want to dig out that old winter coat that’s gathering dust in the wardrobe over summer for those crisp January days? No. Leave the tired jacket you’ve wearing season after season alone, it’s time to make an investment so that you look good when the temperature takes a serious turn for the worse.
Our hand-picked women’s outerwear collection is constantly growing with new arrivals. Our most recent additions are Mackage, who’s fans include Gigi Hadid and Meghan Markle, Froccella, a relatively new player on the scene from Amsterdam creates fitted jackets with real fur trims and Massimo Rossetti’s Italian brand Parajumpers, that was inspired by an extreme Alaskan Rescue Squadron. Here’s our pick of the jackets you need this winter.
Since 1999, creators Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan have sought to balance fashion and function with their eponymous clothing brand. It’s contemporary outerwear features 100% ethically sourced traceable down and the final products are tested outdoors in real Canadian winters. Each piece is waterproof and windproof yet stays breathable whilst holding in warmth. The Trish jacket is a prime example of comfort, insulation and protection but with a modern styling with the length down to the knee, a tailored waist and natural fur lined hood.
Based in Amsterdam, Froccella is quickly making a name for itself for its high- quality outerwear since beginning in 2015. With a unique blend of real furs, closely cut silhouettes and flashes of chrome detailing, Froccella’s jackets epitomise winter glamour. This padded Chevron jacket comes in two colours, a dark green and an icy white.
Canada Goose Brookvale
Canada Goose needs no introduction. What is doesn’t know about science of making the perfect piece of outerwear to cope with all weathers just isn’t worth knowing. The Brookvale Hooded coat is mid-length with a narrow side-quilting that allows for a sleeker silhouette – it is lightweight, versatile and down-filled for superior warmth. It comes in red, black and grey colourways.
Pyrenex is the brand that everyone is talking about for this season’s winter jacket. For more than 150 years Pyrenex has been harvesting goose and duck down feathers in the shadow of the Pyrenees mountains. It started making sleeping bags built to cope in harsh environments for extreme mountaineering expeditions. Then, as its experience and knowhow grew, it delved into wearable outerwear and the rest is history. One of its signature pieces, the Aviator is a prime example of function with elegant street-style with its removable hood, ribbed cuffs and waist, and the signature branding on the left arm.
Barbour International Cadwell
Craftsmanship, experience and heritage has allowed Barbour to become one of the most trusted names out there in the outerwear sphere. Its International line takes inspiration from the thrill and style of motorcycle riding. The Cadwell comes nipped in at the waist for a sleek silhouette with the biker-inspired styling shining through with the baffle-quilted outer, funnel neck with throat strap, and exposed zips.
Massimo Rossetti is the Italian Creative Director behind Parajumpers that began in 2006 after a chance meeting with a serving member of the 210th Rescue Squadron in Alaska. The Parajumpers are trained for extreme rescue situations in some of the wildest places on earth, so the outerwear has to be up to the challenge. Rossetti took inspiration from their outerwear and created jackets made of hard-wearing nylon, removable down-padded lining and a fur-trimmed hood and the collar fastens with a hook used in parachuting.
