Behind The Scenes: Shooting On The Slopes – Courchevel Day 1

Embarking on one of the most prestige skiing resorts in Europe, Tessuti took on Courchevel in the French Alps, for a fun fuelled weekend of skiing, campaign shooting and testing out a range of designer outerwear made for peak conditions. Here’s a sneak preview of what we got up too.

Waking up to blue skies, hot air balloons, embarking on the most picturesque of skylines and temperatures of a relative -6 degrees, we began the day shooting a range of winter-ready outerwear from Holland Cooper, Parajumpers and Kanuk.

Whats’ the best way to arrive on the slopes? By helicopter of course. Located right on the peak on Courchevel 1850, we took a trip to Courchevel Altiport, an airfield with a runway of only 537 metres, just enough for private helicopters and jets to bring the elite to the slopes for a day of skiing or apres – or both!

From Moncler to C.P. Company, we tested the most elite performance jackets and coats that surpassed expectations in the minus temperatures. Moncler was founded in 1952 in nearby location Monestier-de-Clermont, Grenoble, France, and has evolved from mountaineering experts and ongoing technological research to produce a range that’s suitable from the peaks to pavements.

With the sun setting over the slopes, it was clear why so many jet off to the three valleys and splurge on luxe-weeks in the Alps. If not for the skiing, the lively bars and restaurants, but the views alone are somewhat incredible.

Keep an eye out for day two in Courchevel, and the campaign in the coming weeks.

*With special thanks to all the locals of Courchevel, especially Nick and the team at Snow White transfers who were more than accommodating.
