UK Christmas Markets You Should Visit

Like every other year, October has been and gone and November has arrived with a bang. With Christmas festivities creeping in already, everyone is buzzing with anticipation for the most wonderful time of the year! But what is one of the best parts about Christmas? – the markets, of course! So in this post, we will be sharing some of our favourite Christmas market destinations to give you some festive inspiration.

Birmingham

Birmingham is host to lots of Christmas markets – even a floating one! But the best ones are the city’s German markets. The markets run from November 15th and runs until December 23rd  and offer festive drinks, treats, and gifts. Set on Victoria Square and New Street, they hold the title for the biggest outdoor Christmas market in the UK.

Edinburgh

Another famous set of Christmas markets can be found at East Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. In the heart of the picturesque city, there are countless stalls for all the family. The markets open on 17th November, close on Christmas day and then re-open until 1st January.

London

There are lots of markets in London, but Christmas by the river at London Bridge is a particularly amazing option. From 29th November to 2nd January, a mystical light will sparkle through London as the Capital’s most scenic Christmas markets return. There are 68 chalet-style stalls that sell gifts, food, and drink, against the beautiful backdrop of Tower Bridge.

Manchester

Manchester is one of the most renowned UK Christmas market destinations. Spread across a large proportion of the city are stalls and bars full of food, drinks, and delicately crafted Yuletide gifts. The award-winning markets have more than 300 beautiful stalls and chalets that are free and accessible to all. Starting on Friday 9th November and ending on Saturday 22nd December, there is plenty of time to visit this fabulous destination.

York

Indulge yourself with York’s medieval charm and scents of spiced mulled wine this season. Amongst numerous festivities, the St Nicholas Christmas Fair is breath-taking and is full of amazing crafters and makers who are showcased in the village. Housed on Parliament Street, they run from 15th November until 23rd December.
