Golden Goose Deluxe Brand: Where It All Began

In recent weeks we’ve welcomed Marcelo Burlon and Fiorucci to Tessuti in whats become a busy month of new brands. This week, continuing with our new additions, we’re taking a closer look at Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, who have joined the ranks at Tessuti for the first time for AW18. So where did it all begin? Let’s find out.

Well, Golden Goose is the brainchild of Venetian designers Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo. The pair decided to bring their creative instincts together to form the brand back in 2000, with a vision of creating a well-balanced artisanal clothing brand with a ‘low key communications strategy’. In layman’s terms, Golden Goose wanted to allow their product the space to speak for itself. It’s a brave way to go about your business in a world of ambitious advertising campaigns and increasingly visible ‘brand values’.

What sets Golden Goose apart though is that the product really does manage to carve itself root through the noise with uncompromising individuality. Their collection of ready to wear clothing is designed with Italian sartorial history in mind. Leathers and other finely made materials dominate the collections while a distressed, well-worn aesthetic dominates the final product. It is precisely that worn quality that has brought Golden Goose their cult following. For many the charm of a well-worn sneaker or clothing piece is undeniable, each worn item tells a story and it is those stories the brand wants to recreate.
