Highlights From Graduate Fashion Week Day 1

Graduate Fashion week has arrived and is in full swing. From kicking off our official sponsorship with a designated Tessuti bar area, to the judging of the Sportswear and Leisurewear award. We have all the highlights from the first day at Graduate Fashion Week

Located on the second floor of the Truman Brewery, Tessuti kicked off Graduate Fashion Week with our own Tessuti bar, featuring retro arcade games, drinks and more. What better way to make our mark with the student crowds than this cool and collected chill out area?

For a second year running, Tessuti is proud to have partnered with Graduate Fashion Week to sponsor the Sportswear and Leisurewear award. A prestigious and encouraging award for graduate students to flourish in the fashion world. With one talented winner from a selection of 10 student shortlists being selected by our renowned judges’ panel.

Our judges, Christopher Morency, Editor at Highsnobiety, Ghulam Nabz Khadki, menswear buyer at Tessuti and Nigel Luck design specialist and consultant, took to the Graduate Fashion students’ collections to discover each and every ones’ unique and inspiring designs.

Beaming with enthusiasm, students from across the country showcased their collections, from Manchester Metropolitan University to the University of Portsmouth, each and every students design and development process was inspiring and something to be proud of. From issues such as sustainability, consumerism and climate change, it was great to see the fashion students of today tackling real issues that the fashion industry faces.

After much deliberation, and careful consideration from the judging panel a winner was selected for the Sportswear and Leisurewear award, this will be announced on the final day of Graduate Fashion Week.

A diverse community of students have come together to celebrate Graduate Fashion and these students all showcased such creative pieces of work. We can’t wait to see what the next few days at Graduate Fashion Week hold in store.
