Highlights From Graduate Fashion Week Day 4

Graduate Fashion Week has come to an end for another year. The final day of Graduate Fashion Week was the end to an amazing four days where so many talented students came together to celebrate their fantastic achievements.

Day four kicked off with the International Fashion Award Show where people all over the world, from China to Amsterdam, showcased their work. This was a show not to be missed and it was amazing to see talent from different countries and cultures coming together to put on a diverse and unexpected show.

Next up, the Best of Graduate Fashion Week Show hosted the very best that this week had to offer. From clothing that looked like paintings walking down the runway, to impeccable tailoring, there was a huge variety of styles that showed some of the impeccable minds that will be entering the fashion industry. This was followed by the awards where the Tessuti Sportswear And Leisurewear award was announced. We were very happy to present this award to Katherine Watts for her unique ode to sailing using old sails in her garments, to produce pieces that the judges were in awe of.

The Tessuti bar had a busy day with two drinks receptions. Hosting the likes of journalist Hillary Alexander OBE and fashion blogger Victoria from @inthefrow, the Tessuti bar was a flurry of activity and the perfect place to relax in the madness that can be Graduate Fashion Week.

The day was rounded off with the Best of GFW Gala Award Show where Brian McLysaght from Edinburgh College of Art took home the coveted award with his unique use of fabrics and silhouettes that made for a triumphant collection.

Itā€™s safe to say this year that Graduate Fashion Week was one of great success. Getting the chance to see so many talented students under one roof is a real privilege and we cannot wait to see what next year has in store.
