Highlights From Paris Fashion Week Men’s Day 2

Paris Fashion Week Men’s has arrived and is in full swing, from kicking off the day with shows from AMI Paris and Angus Chiang to showrooms of Axel Arigato, we have all the highlights from day two.

AMI Paris

AMI Paris was founded in 2011 by Parisian designer Alexandre Mattiussi, who earned his credit at some of the industries most prestigious fashion houses from Dior to Givenchy. The AMI show was truly spectacular, capturing Parisian nonchalance that is young, cool and carefree. Blurring the lines between casual and chic, the Autumn Winter collection featured neutral, earthy tones and relaxed layered looks, showcasing the brands aesthetic. The brand’s distinctive approach to street style was emphasised in the luxurious fabricated garments and cuts. The show closed with drapes falling to reveal the Eiffel Tower, a simple but effective part of the show that left the audience mesmerised with the Parisian designer and in awe of the show.

Angus Chiang

Angus Chiang takes inspiration from his Taiwanese roots, adding Taiwanese street culture into his designs and injecting new life into Taiwan fashion culture. Known for bright coloured knitwear, a unique sense of aesthetic and humour blended into his collections. The Autumn Winter 2019 show played homage exactly to that, showing admiration towards the 80’s and 90’s era in which Chiang’s customers are nostalgic with. The unisex collection shown against supermarket style surroundings was eye-catching and playful. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this contemporary designer to watch.

Axel Arigato

Tucked away down a Parisian street was the Axel Arigato showroom, staged like an art gallery, a minimalistic approach but with quirky aspects and bright, bold colours. The Autumn Winter 2019 collection stands out, injected with counter-cultural references, it’s a true reflection of the brand’s ability to showcase their identity through visual imagery and appeal to both men and women.
