Calling All Bowie Fans. The Latest Collaboration From HUGO.

Calling all Bowie fans. German super brand HUGO present a new collection dedicated to musical icon, David Bowie.

Arguably one of the most popular artists of the past decade, Bowie was known as much for his ground-breaking sense of style as for his music. His unique look, captured by his Ziggy Stardust alter-ego, has swept the fashion scene and inspired designers for decades. In addition, Bowie himself had worked with a range of prominent designers, from Alexander McQueen to Paul Smith.

A week after what would have been his 73rd birthday, a tribute to Bowie with German brand HUGO makes perfect sense. The artist was well known for taking inspiration from specific cities. For example, the albums Low, Heroes and Lodger making up a trilogy of albums influenced by the German capital, Berlin.

Following HUGO’s collaboration with Liam Payne last month, another music inspired collection shows the brand’s interest in popular culture. Senior Head of Design at HUGO Menswear, Bart de Backer, shared his inspiration for the collection.

“David Bowie was a rebel spirit who lived life on his own terms. This capsule is an opportunity for us to celebrate the impact he had on the world and the values that we share”

This has resulted in a set of products that truly reflect authentic Bowie. The range includes t-shirts featuring classic album artwork, including photographs shot for his 1977 album Heroes by Masayoshi Sukita. Also, accessories blazoned with Bowie’s iconic slogan from the same era: Tomorrow belongs to those who can hear it coming feature heavily.
