London Fashion Week SS20: Day 2 Highlights

London Fashion Week SS20: Day 2 Highlights

All things digital: This weekend, London Fashion Week takes to the screens rather than the catwalks. Day 2 saw both collections and conversations with the designers Bianca Saunders, Xander Zhou and the celebration of 15 years of Toni and Guy hair on London Fashion Week runways.

One of the highlights from Saturday’s line up was Bianca Saunders, presenting the collection alongside photographer Joshua Woods and the writer Jess Cole. The designer showcased the collection via an online zine titled ‘we are one of the same’. Presenting the project during the online panel talk with ShowStudio, the collection looked at gender and connection between twin male and female counterparts. As Saunders voiced her own views on diversity and inclusion within the fashion industry.

Think futuristic designs from Xander Zhou, showcased as a science documentary. An impressive, computer generated film to unveil the fall 2020 men’s and women’s designs. A nod to the digital-only fashion week, Zhou used green screen to give the impression of movement within the film with the fringe designed pieces. The collection featured laser cut holes and patterns, as Zhou would summarise the collection himself: Holes, dots and stripes. Watch the show back here.

Celebrating a 15 year partnership with London Fashion Week, Toni and Guy played tribute to their history on the catwalks with a fashion film dedicated to exactly that, the hair on the catwalks. The film includes archival catwalk collections from brands such as Matthew Williamson, House of Holland, and Mary Katrantzou to name a few.
