Luxury Takeouts To Try In Lockdown 2.0

Luxury Takeouts To Try In Lockdown 2.0

Here we go again…lockdown 2.0. For the next few weeks, hospitality venues across the country have had to close their doors again. While we might not be able to dine out at the moment, restaurants, cafes and food traders can offer home delivery or collection services which is great news for everyone. And, on the bright side, compared to the last lockdown many restaurants are now set up to start delivering takeaways straight away. So, this means we don’t have to go without our favourite dishes for too long and more importantly, it means that we can continue to support independent restaurants.

We’ve rounded up some of the best options from across Manchester and Liverpool, with the best luxury takeout’s to try.

Six by Nico Manchester & Liverpool

The team behind the hugely popular Six By Nico restaurants have announced the launch of a new online dining platform. HOME-X aims to bring restaurant quality food and drink experiences to homes across the UK. The home delivery boxes will include the “finest pre-prepared ingredients” as well as full cooking instructions, to make the process of cooking at home as simple, hassle-free and tasteful as possible. Similar to the restaurants, a new menu theme will be released every month, with delivery included across the UK.

This month’s new menu is one that has been inspired by the flavours of Indian cuisine. The ‘Bombay Kitchen’ menu launched on Monday 19 October and is available until Sunday 29 November. It is six courses for £29 and, if desired, a wine flight for £26 with an expertly paired glass with each dish. The new menu has been inspired by the diverse culture and geography of Mumbai. Each of the courses is a fine-dining take on local dishes and age-old Indian traditions, executed with chef Nico Simeone’s signature flair.

Don Giovanni, Manchester

Manchester’s oldest Italian restaurant has revamped its Sunday offering with the launch of its new roast menu. Don Giovanni’s new menu is a traditional affair, including everything you’d expect on a Sunday Roast plate, with a little Italian twist. Meaty options include slow-cooked lamb shoulder, chicken supreme or topside of beef. For non-meat-eaters there’s mushroom wellington garlic and herb mushrooms wrapped in thick shortcrust pastry, which can be adapted for vegans or vegetarians.

All roasts come served with caramelised parsnips and carrots, tender stem broccoli and a cheesy cauliflower gratin, which can be made with soy milk and vegan mozzarella for those who don’t eat dairy. You needn’t miss out as Don Giovanni is delivering Sunday Roasts straight to your door!

Maray, Liverpool

Liverpool favourite Maray, which has three venues across the city, has reopened its Allerton Road restaurant for delivery. Taking to Instagram to share the news, Maray shared that they are very happy to announce the opening of our Allerton road site for delivery.

Maray has started by opening on Uber Eats from 5pm-9pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday whilst they re-acquaint themselves with the flow of service and get back into the groove. If all goes well, they’ll be extending these hours. The limited menu will include Maray staples such as the Disco Cauliflower, whipped goat’s cheese, falafel, kofta, chicken and sweet potato wedges as well as a selection of wine.
