Milan Fashion Week Men’s: AW20 Trend Report

Italy is known for its effortlessly chic style, so Milan Fashion Week Men’s is always greatly anticipated. It did not disappoint. Here we have selected some of our favourite trends from the week.

Back To Work

Similar to the streets of London during London Fashion Week Men’s, Milan seemed to have an overall more tailored approach to the new season. Veering away from streetwear, a lot of designers gave us collections that focused on suits and sharp tailoring. Prada gave boxy, oversized blazers paired with button up shirts and ties that were reminiscent of school days. Mixed with fabrics such as wool and corduroy, this gave a nostalgic feel to the suits. As well as this, A Cold Wall took a step away from sportswear to give us boxy jackets and tailored trousers in grown up hues of teals and purples.

Colour story: Vibrantly Sophisticated

This season designers have not shied away from colour. It seems that this season colour has been very carefully considered and this has resulted in a mature approach to colour. Many designers have shown us the perfect balance of eye catching and bright colour in sophisticated hues to give an almost retro feel. This was seen from the likes of Prada, Fabio Quaranta and A-COLD-WALL. The only primary colour that seemed prominent was red (a similar story to London Fashion Week Men’s trend report) and this was mixed with more unusual hues to create colour palettes that felt unpredictable in the best way.
