Paris Fashion Week Men’s: AMI Paris AW19 Show

Paris Fashion Week Men’s: AMI Paris AW19 Show

One of the first brands to show at Paris Fashion Week Men’s was AMI Paris.

Hosting a fashion show at such a grand location as the Theatre Nation de Challot, was setting a precedent for an ambitious and mesmerising Parisian show that was ahead.

With a dramatic royal entrance and museum-esque statues on the route into the showroom, the fashion-conscious crowds began to embark upon the show with high expectations.

With neutral, simplistic drapes segmenting the room, each guest found their seat to a rumbling classic French ensemble playing overhead. The atmosphere was tense, people waiting, anticipating, watching every movement in the room.

Preparing for the models to embrace the catwalk space, the lights dimmed, music intensified and somewhat over 30 models hit the walkways with lights soaring on each one of them, amplifying the simplistic designs of the AW19/20 collection.

The collection itself was nothing but exceptional. With a recurring theme of understated tailoring throughout, the mens’ and womenswear apparel both screamed clean-cut lines, layered luxe looks and slightly oversized silhouettes throughout.

With a mixture of an earthy colour pallet and pastel colour pops, the clear theme of the AW19 range was neutral, classical and very much predicted a trend for next season.

Each line embellished with the symbolic AMI Paris logo – a classic addition to the range keeping it fresh and true to the brand, Parisian through and through.

Ten minutes into the show, the luxe-beige curtains that segmented the room began to draw, revealing four rows of impressed viewers and a snake-like runway of models cascading the catwalk between them. The room was full, intense and very well-received by all.

Just as that, the almighty reveal, the final curtain was drawn to show one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower in the city, right behind the catwalk. With Alexendre Mattiussi himself taking centre stage, the sun was shining behind the Eiffel Tower capturing the hearts of all in the room.
