Paris Fashion Week Men’s: Angus Chiang AW19 Show

Set under the Pont Alexandre III, the Angus Chiang show was eye-catching, bold and truly showcased stand out style.

The setting of the show was kept well-hidden until guests were greeted one by one into a supermarket style backdrop. Re-creating a traditional market from his home country, market stalls lined the sides of the catwalks, with fresh fruits and vegetables on offer for all. Known for his streetwear designs and constantly referencing his Taiwanese roots, it was only appropriate that Chiang’s collection was showcased in market style streets.

Colourful and playful check patterns and graphic prints flooded the catwalk. The Autumn Winter designs were elevated with bright colours, foil and pvc. Injecting new life into Taiwanese fashion culture, the collection was designed for both men and women, upholding a gender-neutral and contemporary style.

The models strutted down the catwalk to retro 80’s music, an era that Chiang’s customer base is so nostalgic with. The collection was playful, the setting reflecting this and the models flaunting the collection in the most eye-popping way. Known for bright coloured knitwear, this was only apparent in the latest collection. Colours of bright blue, yellow, pink and Chiang’s signature orange were striking on the clothes, as well as smeared across the models faces as they paraded the collection down the catwalk.

The Angus Chiang show was nothing but creative and loud. Tessuti can’t wait to see what happens next for this designer to watch.
