Paris Fashion Week Men’s: AW20 Trend Report

As Paris Fashion Week Men’s comes to a close it’s time to reflect on the things we’ve seen. And while it could be the perfect opportunity to dissect collections, we prefer to think positive and share some of the next big trends we spotted in the French capital.

Relaxed Tailoring

Traditional tailoring is finding its way into streetwear’s visual repertoire, and with good reason; Classic cuts never really go out of style. Across showrooms and runways, we witnessed the boom of casual tailoring. In the coming seasons expect to see blazers and draped trousers everywhere. AMI Paris took the lead with their elegant collection of gently tailored pieces inspired by French cinema. Taking the traditional shapes and using softer materials and exaggerated cuts will be the name of the game.

Just when it appeared utilitarian style had hit its peak and might begin down-trending, workwear found its way back into collections everywhere. Heavy canvasses and rigid workwear shapes still have an appeal to the new school of fashion leaders. To be honest, it’s crazy to think street style aficionados such as Kim Jones and Virgil Abloh would ever abandon the style. So, reach for your A.P.C or Norse Projects, they’re in vogue.

Baby Blue

It was the colour on everyone’s minds. From the runway at Louis Vuitton, to Paul Smith’s 50th anniversary show, and back to the Axel Arigato showroom sky blue is the zeitgeist. The bold colour is everywhere and we’re completely for it. Get ready to inject some fun into your wardrobe and go sky blue.
