Paris Fashion Week Men’s: Day Two Highlights

Day two of Tessuti X Paris Fashion Week Men’s has seen us exploring new and upcoming brands at the Man/Woman trade show, visiting our existing brands such as Maison Margiela and Helmut Lang and seeing what the streets of Paris have to offer. Here’s an overview of how we got on.

Maison Margiela

Set in the most picturesque location, the Maison Margiela showroom was filled with floral displays, quaint lighting and open white wooden windows leading to perfectly put-together courtyards and beyond. Amongst the picture-perfect Parisian setting was an elevator up to the showroom, in which the SS20 collection was displayed.

The range was filled with pin stripes, paint splatters and luxury materials – think structured, oversized and neutral tones for next season.

Peering through the showroom window, the sun poured in to reveal the most amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. Both location and collection equally as impressive.

Helmut Lang

A common theme in Paris – a well-maintained courtyard – led us through to the Helmut Lang showroom in which SS20 was neatly presented.

From grey’s and neutral colours to blues and paint splatters – a theme we’ve seen a lot from luxury brands for upcoming seasons – the SS20 menswear Helmut Lang is both commercial but equally as interesting.

With shirting, hoodies with contrasting overexposed pockets and a Maison Margiela influence, the range oozes wearability, and one we’re sure to be keeping an eye on.

Man/Woman – trade show

Located on one of the most well know fashion districts of Paris, filed between stores from Chanel to Louis Vuitton, we fell up the Man/Woman trade show. An extravagant room, filled with brands – new and old – showcasing their SS20 collections for buyers and media alike. We went in with open minds and we’re impressed from the offset.

A common trend throughout included oversized outerwear, embroidered footwear and pastel tones, you could definitely predict what’s big for SS20.
