Tessuti Guide To Apres Ski Styling

Tessuti Guide To Apres Ski Styling

Are you planning on hitting the slopes this season? Whether you’ve got something booked or you are simply toying with the idea. Check out our top tips to make the most of your Après ski style.

Choose the right location

Just the idea of idyllic ski resorts nestled in the depths of France or Switzerland can conjure up images of classic European style. However, not all ski locations were created equal and every resort has its own personality. Because of this, it’s important to account for your personal style when choosing a location.

For example, if you dream of the classic chic ski getaway then St. Moritz could be at the top of your list. Known as the hub of Europe’s so-called golden era of alpine skiing throughout the 60s, St. Moritz, alongside Gstaad, is a high-fashion heaven. Don’t be surprised to see shades of Moncler, Pyrenex, Moose Knuckles and more spread across the slopes here.

Other resorts across the world show slightly different personalities. For example, the hills of Verbier and Zermatt are more accustomed to a more modern, glam look. On the other side of the world in Aspen, Colorado, an outdoorsy style is more appropriate. Think turtleneck jumpers and puffers.

Invest in the right outerwear

Speaking of puffers, the perfect coat can be make or break in a successful ski trip. It’s important to ensure that your outerwear holds warmth whilst staying light. For this reason, packable down jackets are often a go-to option.

Down is so well respected amongst the alpine crowds for its versatility. The bundles of feathers create pockets of warmth to keep you cosy, whilst the material remains light enough to be flexible. Make sure to shop from a sustainable down provider like our very own Pyrenex.

Take inspiration from history’s biggest style icons

Après Ski Style isn’t a new phenomenon. Style icons have been using the mountains as a winter retreat for decades. When deciding on a go-to look for those cold slopes, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, layering is key. With that in mind, it’s a safe option to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn and go for a chunky oversized knit.

Super warm knits and outerwear aren’t the only option though as proven in the past by fashion icons like Princess Diana. For a sportier, more active look you can build on your layers with 90s inspired brights. Pyrenex, Polo Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger have all got strong options in this department.
