Take a stroll around the streets of Amsterdam and fall in love with the famous canals and picturesque buildings. Whether you want to stop off for some food and drinks or take a look in the shops, the streets of Amsterdam are an amazing place to explore. The most well known locally favoured shopping area is De Negen Straatjes or ‘The Nine Streets’. Here you can find a charming warren of cobbled streets that are packed full of an array of shops.

Enjoy the Museumplein which houses some of the most famous museums in the world. Visit the Van Gogh and the Moco Museum, and immerse yourself in incredible art. One of the most famous destinations in Amsterdam is the Anne Frank House, but this is slightly further afield. This biographical museum is dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank, and it is a very interesting and insightful place to visit.

There are around 40 parks across Amsterdam and one of the most popular ones is Vondelpark. The Vondelpark is a public urban park of 47 hectares and it the perfect place for a stroll. Another great way to get around the park and the city is to rent a bike. It is estimated that 63% of the Amsterdammers use their bikes daily and it is the favoured mode of transport across the city.

Sit back and relax on a river cruise along the Amsterdam canals. Created in the 17th century to keep the sea at bay, Amsterdam’s canal belt is a pretty sight to see. There are plenty of cruises which depart across the city that give you a chilled out, guided tour on the go. Another great boating option is to catch the ferry to Amsterdam North. Here you will find vibrant food, drink and a buzzing cultural scene.
