The Essential Guide: 24 Hours In Barcelona

Renowned for its art and architecture, Tessuti took to Barcelona for the next instalment of Stand Out. A must-see city – Here is our Tessuti travel guide to 24 hours in the unforgettable Catalan city of Barcelona.

Early riser or not, the best way to start your 24 hours in Barcelona is to capture the sun rising over the palm trees from your balcony, with a fresh pastry to hand. Full of history and sites to explore, we suggest you head to Barcelonaā€™s Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas. Spend the morning wandering around the winding cobbled city streets whilst taking in the unparalleled architecture. This diverse city with rich culture offers many mesmerising sites that you wonā€™t get anywhere else.

Take a quick pit stop and enjoy lots of local delicacies, from the many dishes of tapas and paella, to the swirling of sangria at Placa Reial. Then head to the infamous La Sagrada Familia – Antoni Gaudiā€™s awe-inspiring creation. Itā€™s not hard to get caught up in the magic of this place, which, pending completion after 150 years of construction, will be the tallest religious building in Europe. No visit to Barcelona would be complete without capturing some of Gaudiā€™s architectural designs, influenced by nature and religion that are seamlessly intertwined.

Barcelona offers the best of both worlds and what better way to embrace this than heading to the sea washed beaches to get a sun-kissed tan? Take some time for a bit of relaxation, downtime or a cheeky gelato by the beach. Barcelona boardwalk offers beachfront views as far as the eye can see. For panoramic views of the city and the sea, spend the evening watching the long hot sun set from a terrace restaurant or try the W Hotel for spectacular views of the sea.

From sights, shopping, culture and clubs, Barcelona offers it all. Thinking of going for a long weekend away? Check out our Tessuti guide here.
