UK Christmas Markets Guide

It’s officially time to start playing Christmas songs. The most wonderful time of the year is upon us and with that comes the iconic Christmas Markets. Mulled wine and Bratwurst are on the menu as we discuss some of the best Christmas Markets in the UK for you to visit this year.

Let’s start with one of the biggest. Manchester Christmas markets are one of the most established markets in the UK. Dotted all around the city, it gives Manchester a buzz all December long. Head to King Street for a mulled wine or prosecco in chalet style bars or visit Piccadilly Gardens for a foodie feast. Korean hotdogs and tornado potatoes are amongst some of the fun and delicious foods on offer this Christmas.

And now for a Christmas Market that you may not think of straight away. Near Southampton, Winchester is a city that might not immediately spring to mind for a day at the Christmas Markets. Situated in the Cathedral grounds and in the surrounding area, this market has been voted as one of the top 10 in Europe. This year the ice rink has been replaced with a stage for live performances from choir groups, jazz bands and more for some live music whilst exploring the chalet style stands.

Finally, it wouldn’t be a Christmas Market guide without mentioning Edinburgh. Oozing with festive charm, Edinburgh is the perfect city for getting into the Christmas spirit. With everything from carol singers, rides, and a Christmas tree maze, this is a treat for the whole family. And if you’re lucky there may be a sprinkling of snow to complete the festive magic.
