What Went On At The BRIT Awards 2019?

This week, the BRITs saw us celebrate the achievements of British and International artists from over the past year. Live on ITV from The O2 Arena, London, Jack Whitehall hosted the show for the second year, in front of over 10,000 guests and everyone watching at home. Other guest appearances were made from famous faces such as Paloma Faith, Annie Mac, Liam Payne and Winnie Harlow, to present some of the prestigious awards.

To start, ‘The Greatest Show’ was performed by Hugh Jackman, which was well received by everyone watching. With a hard performance to follow, we saw other appearances across the show from Calvin Harris, as he made his BRITs debut with his collaboration with Dua Lipa, to Jared Leto. As well as this, highlights during the BRITs were performances from George Ezra, Little Mix and The 1975, to name only a few.

At the BRITs, we saw the music giant of British music, Calvin Harris, bag his first ever BRIT award. Having been nominated 16 times in the last ten years, he won British Single, along with Dua Lipa, for ‘One Kiss’, and Best British Producer, in acknowledgement of his collaboration with some of the biggest artists and his contribution towards some of the most loved hits of this decade. The artist wore a brown suit with a black polo neck and a huge smile throughout the show.

One of the most controversial awards went to The 1975. Winning British Group for the second time, The 1975 also added the MasterCard British Album of the Year award to their collection, for their recent album. The group were overwhelmed with their win and looked smart on the stage in their suits.

We also saw P!nk collect the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, which was well received by the public. As the artist approached the stage in her statement neon yellow halterneck dress, she touched the hands of the excited audience and followed with a classic ‘P!nk’ performance.
